Specifications include, but are not limited to: DHS, Division of Grants, Equity, Access, and Research (GEAR) is reaching out to organizations that work with New Americans. GEAR is interested in understanding your organization’s activities, relationships, and experiences in assisting New Americans. Specifically, the GEAR team would like insights into how you support New Americans in securing employment, undergoing training, and accessing education as they transition and build their lives in their new country. GEAR is interested in collecting detailed information about your organization. We would like to understand: Organization Background: Demographic data of your organization. How many years has your organization been operational. The duration for which you have been working with New Americans. Experience and Expertise: Your organization’s history in aiding New Americans, or others, in securing long-term care (LTC) employment or positions in other healthcare fields. Services Offered: The range of support services you provide. Any observed unmet needs New Americans often face upon arrival. Challenges and Solutions: Barriers your organization encounters in delivering culturally responsive services.
