Specifications include, but are not limited to: The objective of the contract resulting from this RFP is to provide the University access to a highly capable company to conduct background checks for employees and/or potential employees and the ability to access I-9 electronically, as well as employment verifications. The University is required to hire employees who are responsible for handling sensitive information, securing institutional equipment, operating institution-owned equipment, dispersing payments, and handling cash. Therefore, it is important that the Universities conduct due diligence for its’ hiring and/or promotion processes. In addition, the Commonwealth of Kentucky General Assembly passed legislation during Spring 2006 session which requires all public universities to conduct criminal background checks on all new hires effective July 12, 2006. Eastern Kentucky University estimates 1,400 to 1,500 background checks for a twelve (12) month period.
