Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of New Haven is seeking a part-time recycling educator.This contractor will develop and implement waste reduction andrecycling programs through education and outreach, reporting tothe Executive Director of Climate and Sustainability and workingin partnership with the Department of Parks and Public Works,the New Haven Solid Waste and Recycling Authority, the Officeof Climate and Sustainability, and the public to meet local andstate materials management goals. The recycling educator willwork with residents, businesses, and New Haven Public Schoolsto improve recycling through decreased contamination andincreased quantity of recycled material. The primary focus of thisposition will be on single stream recycling, but duties will extendto education regarding organics recycling (composting) and hardto recycle materials, such as household hazardous waste
