Specifications include, but are not limited to: Chassis Requirements: Ambulances should have a new Freightliner or equal chassis with two (2) wheel drive and Diesel engine. Module shall not exceed the chassis manufacturer’s recommended gross vehicle weight (GVW) per axle minus 1,000 pounds. MOTOR size – 8.9L, 380HP, 1250 ft. lb torque. PREFERRED Ambulances shall have at least 19,500lb Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). PREFERRED Ambulances should have a conventional chassis furnished with at least two (2) doors enclosed. Customer prefers double cab chassis. Bid shall include module crash test data verified by a certified independent agency. Bidder shall be a vehicle manufacturer authorized modifier. Bidder shall provide proof of product liability coverage with its bid proposal. The cab must have installed an OEM AM/FM/CD stereo radio with multiple cab speakers with GPS. MANDATORY The radiator must be an OEM High capacity for use with ambulance prep package. MANDATORY High-capacity air conditioner and heater with ambulance package. MANDATORY There must be OEM heated / remote controlled motorized mirrors – with incorporated convex mirrors. MANDATORY There will be heavy duty aluminum non-slip surface boards with grip strut inserts installed on the cab by the ambulance builder. There will be front mud flaps built into the boards. Additional framing will be welded beneath the running boards to give stronger support. MANDATORY Chassis shall have dual alternators rated at minimum 400amps. The ambulance builder shall install a front console between seats that will house, dual cup holders, front switch panel, radio head, cell phone slot, portable radio holder, V-MUX controller, glove box holders and map book slots. The console will also be equipped with a 125V outlet and a USB port. Havis – C-ARM-102 Armrest mounted on each side of the console. Design will be finalized at prebuild meeting. Chassis shall control power door locks on all exterior doors. The ambulance cab and module shall be painted in white color paint. Paint must be the same for cab and module. MANDATORY Push button secure idle security (anti-theft device) must be installed. MANDATORY Leather seating with heat and cooling capabilities. MANDATORY Fuel tank at a minimum to travel distance of 500 miles. Diesel tank must be clearly labeled. LED headlights and fog lights. MANDATORY A pair of PIAA LP530 LED fog lights shall be mounted on the front bumper and independently switched on from the V-MUX. MANDATORY Diesel locking fuel caps. MANDATORY DEF tank at least eight (8) gallons with external fill on driver’s side. DEF tank must be clearly labeled. MANDATORY Hidden unlock switch located in grille area. MANDATORY Minimum Two (2) OEM Batteries under the hood. MANDATORY On board compressor and dual battery charger. MANDATORY Module Requirements: Module shall have a minimum 20-year warranty with remount coverage by manufacturer or certified representative. Power inverter shall be minimal 3000 watts substantial enough to withstand use of all power options in the unit, as well as all 125v outlets simultaneously. Interior dimensions shall be at least 180 inches long by 73 inches high. Ground height shall not exceed 114” Rear module display shall have a reflective overlay over the entire surface between corner posts and exterior door. 125V outlet on each side of exterior box with weather proof cover painted same color as box. Bidder shall quote standard cabinet configuration. Customer to finalize cabinet build at initial inspection. There shall be polished aluminum rub rails around module. Module exterior doors shall have shock style door controller and locks. Module side door shall be an EZ Glide Door. Module shall have outside module access for the dumping suspension system, including when the left rear door opens. Module shall have polished aluminum wheels. Module shall have independent four (4) “Liquid Spring” or an equivalent suspension along with air bag/leaf spring suspension. Module shall have minimum of eight (8) 125v outlets with 2 USB charging port (Type A & C) with total output of 4.2 Amp and five (5) 12v outlets. Location of the outlets will be specified by Children’s Transport after award of Bid. Bidder shall include additional power outlets quoted as options. Module shall have a minimum of six (6) oxygen outlets. Location of the outlets will be specified by Children’s Transport prior to build. Module shall have a minimum of four (4) medical air outlets. Location of the outlets will be specified by Children’s Transport prior to build. Module shall have a minimum of two (2) built-in suction and/or vacuum systems having capabilities of intermittent suction. The aluminum Frame structure shall be 2” X 2” tubes spaced NO FURTHER APART THAN 12 inches. The roof, sides and all doors shall be fabricated from a MINIMUM of .125- gauge aluminum sheet stock. We are requesting that the ambulance body superstructure be fully seam welded together and not use caulk to cover any seams in the body. We understand that not all builders perform this as normal practice, as for our safety requirements and longevity of the body, this will be a major factor in the decision process. All entry points to the module shall have grab bars for safe entry and exit of the unit. Exterior doors shall have a reflective covering visible when doors are open. Reflective covering shall include at least one-third (1/3) of interior door surface area. Reflective covering shall match reflective material on the exterior rear of the module. Chassis and Module shall be wrapped with graphics provided by UMMC/Children’s Hospital. PREFERRED Exterior doors shall have LED warning lights that activate when doors are open and shall be located on the interior of the exterior door. Module shall have a minimum three (3) to six (6) inch drop at curb side entry. Curb side entry door shall have additional step in stepwell. The unit shall have a monitoring system in the forward module with continuous monitoring of a forward-facing camera that will continuously monitor the road as well as the interior of the cab. The entire module shall be insulated and sound–proofed, including the underside of the module and steps. Module shall have Polyurethane Spray Foam applied to the ceiling, walls, exterior doors, and underside of the vehicle. Module must also contain Temp-Coat or equivalent liquid acrylic latex ceramic insulation applied to interior of the ambulance module roof and floor. MANDATORY Sound absorbing material and 3M sound tape or equal product on top of wheel well inner liner. MANDATORY Sound/Thermal insulation plus spray foam insulation in module doors. MANDATORY Sound absorbing material on exterior side of side door stepwell – enclosed with aluminum cover. MANDATORY Add Hushmat or equivalent around side door stepwell to reduce road noise. MANDATORY Install sound absorbing material on the interior exposed walls of the exterior compartment. 3M Sound abatement tape or equivalent product. MANDATORY The entire aluminum subfloor shall be covered with 3M Sound abatement tape to significantly reduce road noise. MANDATORY Module must have manufacturer-approved medical equipment brackets compatible with two (2) quick connect Zoll X Series mounts. MANDATORY Module shall have at least two (2) recessed intravenous (IV) hangers in the ceiling, at least two (2) wall mount IV hangers in a location specified by UMMC at build, and three (3) or more IV pump mounting poles as specified by UMMC at time of build. The unit shall have three (3) connection locations in the cab as well as three (3) connection locations in the module for radio communication power and/or coax prewire to include dual head radio installation. Module shall have two (2) Shoreline connections on the driver’s side on the side face of the module. Prefer auto-eject on crank system. Module shall have LED indicator for module appliances. Module shall have a block heater. Module windows must have a privacy internal manual control option for all windows. MANDATORY Module shall shall flip down LED screen with entertainment DVD system with AM/FM/CD radio and Bluetooth capabilities. Module shall be capable of two (2) Stryker powerload systems for transporting two (2) patients simultaneously. Module shall have an onboard Stadco generator or equivalent with a minimum 6kW output that utilizes own cranking battery. Generator shall have capabilities to provide cranking power to truck chassis. Module rear shall state “KEEP BACK 300 FEET” Module shall be capable to store spare tire outside of patient care area. Dual Coil/Dual Port AC Condenser mounted to front of box. MANDATORY All seating must be executive/first class seating with armrest and the ability to recline with color determined at site visit. MANDATORY Children’s Transport Logo stitched in each seat headrest. MANDATORY Lighting shall be multicolored with LED lighted ceiling and have the option to change lighting to a star pattern. PREFERRED Shall contain intercom system from cab to module compartment. MANDATORY Weldon VMUX Electrical or equivalent installed to module. MANDATORY One (1) RF prewire for LMR Radio RF Pack location to be determined by the customer. This must include +12VDC Constant, +12VDC Ignition, GND, and RF Cable. Three (3) prewire locations radio control heads location to be determined by the customer. This must include +12VDC Constant, +12VDC Ignition and GND. Cup holders in counter space. All interior surfaces should be nonporous material. Transfer switch capable of handling all power between inverter and generator.
