Specifications include, but are not limited to: Gravel will be supplied by the state and must be hauled by the contractor from the Grande Pit located off of Minnesota State Highway 89 in Township 156, Range 37W, Section 33. The gravel pit is approximately 16 miles from the start of the project or 20 miles to end of the project at the turnaround on the South Moose River West Dike. Approximately 1600 cubic yards are estimated to be needed for the Moose River West Forest Road. This segment is approximately 4 miles in length, road width is approximately 15 feet wide, and gravel will be applied evenly across at approximately 1.6” thickness‐uncompacted depth. Spread rate will be approximately 400 yards to the mile. The project starts at intersection of Moose River West Forest Road and Dicks Parkway (Gates Corner). The Moose River West Forest Road will be closed to the general public at the time of the construction project. The location closest to the gravel pit for this segment must be the starting point to allow gravel compaction from hauling operation. The State must be notified 7 working days prior to start of project so signage can be placed and so that grading contractor can be notified. A load ticket system documenting date and location of gravel placement will be used. Project must be completed within 2 weeks of starting hauling.
