Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a clearcut of approximately 75 acres of hardwood from the Marsh Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest in Hernando County, Florida (see attached maps). This sale will require the use of a whole tree chipper or grinder. Timber to be removed in the hardwood stands and pastures includes all timber except for live oaks with a DBH greater than 12 inches, post oaks with a DBH greater than 8 inches, and longleaf pine. The boundary of the sale area is defined by roads, orange paint, fence or pine plantation. There is no estimated harvest volume for this sale. The trees being harvested are volunteer overgrowth within a pasture used for grazing of cattle. The goal of this sale is to restore the pasture for quality grazing.
