Specifications include, but are not limited to: LASR services, based on person-centered, individualized practices, help eligible individuals in Hawaii to live the lives they choose in the community. LASR services support individuals’ participation, partnership, and involvement in activities that increase: (1) opportunities to develop friendships, relationships, and natural supports; (2) opportunities to be employed in competitive, integrated employment; (3) opportunities to participate and contribute to the community in ways they choose; and (4) independence and interdependence within the community. Services are based on guiding principles of individuality, independence, privacy, partnership, choice, dignity, respect and right, and require the planning and delivery of services through listening, discovering, and understanding each person as an individual. LASR services shall provide cost effective and individualized supports for the population served. Services shall be provided in fully integrated settings that provide full access to the community.
