Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Maine Department of Education is seeking proposals to review and revise three existing planning documents used in public school design. The documents include 1. Educational Specifications, 2. Space Allocation Guidelines and 3. Public School Standards & Guidelines for New School Construction & Major Renovation Projects. The current version of these documents can be found on the Department’s web site https://www.maine.gov/doe/schools/facilities/mcscp The three documents will be designed to support Maine school administrative units as they undertake a planning process to improve and modernize their school facilities. The documents will align with each other to provide a comprehensive approach for Major Capital School Construction planning. They need to be formatted clearly and use relevant graphs, charts, and illustrations wherever helpful. The documents must be professional in appearance and provide clear, accurate, and up to date planning information. It is anticipated that the majority of work and time required to compete this project will be in the development of document 3 where the provider must provide updated professional and technical information in each Section of the document. The provider will obtain input from the design and construction industry as defined below. Meetings to complete this work may be held in Augusta at the Department of Education, at the provider’s office location, or online.
