Specifications include, but are not limited to: This 61 +/--acre golf course is located on Country Club Road in the North River Magisterial District. The facility was originally constructed in 1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) on land donated by William E. Carson with the course built to his design. The current club house was built in 1998 to replace the original rustic CCC clubhouse that was lost in the flood of 1996. Management of the Front Royal Golf Club (FRGC), dedicated to the citizens of the County of Warren by the Carson Family, was assumed by the County in 2005. The County subsequently paid off the debt on the facility and continues to manage the day-to-day operations of the FRGC. The County Parks and Recreation Department immediately assumed responsibility of running the FRGC and its operation through an enterprise fund. The main focus is to re-establish membership and have the course used by individuals, families, and businesses that either live in Warren County or that are visiting the area.
