Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified vendors to establish contract pricing per ton for the purchase of Sulfuric Acid for the Electric Services Department. The contract period will be from November 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024 with the option to renew for an additional 6 month period from May 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024 if agreeable to both the City and the Vendor at renewal time. Pricing will remain fixed throughout the contract period. Each shipment of sulfuric acid will be one (1) truckload of approximately 25 tons, 66 degrees BE. The City anticipates 5-6 shipments for the 6 month period. This is an estimated quantity only and the City does not guarantee the purchase of any specific, minimum, or maximum quantity. Deliveries will be made by the vendor as requested by the City to the Power Plant at 200 E. 5th St., Ames, IA 50010.
