Specifications include, but are not limited to: The equipment the County is seeking should be designed to process a high volume of return envelopes. Approximately 100,000 to 200,000 each election, two to three elections each year. The equipment must open the envelope by cutting or milling the envelope without damaging the contents and facilitate a quick removal and separation of the ballot from the envelope. The equipment must be simple to operate by one or two individuals with minimal training. The equipment must be durable in its design to handle the estimated volume of envelopes with minimal to no downtime if properly maintained. Due to the time constraints surrounding elections, prompt service and customer support is a high priority if equipment needs repairs or service during an election period. Each election period is approximately three weeks prior to the election and two weeks following the election. The Applicant shall provide basic maintenance and repair training to County staff regarding work they can perform without voiding any warranty on the equipment.
