Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona, seeks an executive search firm to provide contracted services related to the recruitment, screening and recommendation of qualified candidates to serve as the Executive Director of the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Some requirements below, but not limited to: a. Value, understand and have experience working for a mission driven organization(s). b. Promote a culture of equity and inclusion internally and through their work with clients, stakeholders and the public. Ideal candidate would have experience in strengthening the agencies brand and its mission statement: The Arizona Commission on the Arts is an agency of the State of Arizona whose mission is to create opportunities for all Arizonans to participate in and experience the arts. To that end, we deliver grants and support to cultivate sustainable arts communities and promote statewide public access to arts and cultural activities. c. Share a commitment to increasing diversity in the cultural and public sectors by creating connections and expanding leadership opportunities for people of color, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups. d. Understand the vital role of the government supporting the arts in Arizona and improving the knowledge and quality of life of its residents. e. Understands local, state, regional and national arts ecosystems and trends. Experience in Arts Public Policy would be an added value in potential candidates. f. Understands the State Arts Agencies unique role in advancing the state’s cultural needs and priorities within the public sector. Specific knowledge of Arts advocacy is an added value in potential candidates.
