Specifications include, but are not limited to: MNPS is seeking a vendor who can provide a personalized leadership academy for economically disadvantaged scholars to reduce discipline infractions, increase achievement and a career track. With this academy, we want our scholars to receive organizational, self-regulating strategies to increase their opportunities for career readiness and to disrupt the pipeline to prison path. We want to expound on the specific needs for our scholars at Haynes Middle School. At Haynes Middle School, 83% of our scholars are African American and 10% are Hispanic. There is a need for a real connection with a professional of similar academic and behavioral challenges with a proven record. Our scholars represent an underserved, low income, low performing, minority population, mostly at-risk with limited resources. The awarded Contractor agrees to volunteer at Haynes Middle School for a minimum of two (2) days per week to begin building relationships with our teachers and scholars to support the academic success and to form real connections with our scholars. The awarded Contract must provide student assemblies, professional development workshops, and parent nights. The expected measurable outcomes that are to be addressed are: (1) Improved academic performance; (2) Increased attendance; (3) Decrease behavioral issues; (4) Enhance decision-making; (5) Develop relationship skills; (6) Heighten social awareness; (7) Improve social awareness; and (8) Improve self-awareness.
