Specifications include, but are not limited to: This contract will research and document best practices and case studies to inform Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) toolkit development. The GSI toolkit will increase the capacity for MnDOT to address increasing stormwater needs, environmentally benefiting stormwater designs, resiliency, and structural stability, while supporting community needs through design and construction. This will also facilitate long term maintenance of MnDOT projects and stormwater management systems by providing maintenance and system monitoring plans. The GSI deliverables will address practices that are designed for improved stormwater management while providing benefits to the environment such as habitat, aesthetic value, and active transportation comfort. Research will show how these visible, above ground, stormwater management elements can provide traffic calming. The contract will consider how detailed stormwater elements, including both vegetation and human made structures can also reduce snow trap hazards along MnDOT’s highway system. Selected Responder will correspond with MnDOT’s co-leads over the contract duration.
