Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1 Positive plate of battery must be a full frame grid 2 Negative plate of battery must be a full frame grid. 3 All automotive battery plates must be completely sealed. 4 All batteries must have plates secured to the bottom of the battery case. 5 Composition of positive battery plates must use a calcium, tin, silver, lead alloy. 6 Composition of negative battery plates must use a calcium, tin, silver, lead alloy. 7 Positive and negative battery plates must be a stamped design not cast. 8 Battery manufacturer must recycle 100% of the used or "junk" batteries picked up from the City as a result of this contract. Battery manufacturer must reclaim the electrolyte from the battery and reuse it in "new" batteries or in other product manufacture processes. Electrolyte from used batteries shall not be disposed. 9 All batteries must be manufactured in the United States of America. 10 Batteries picked up from the City as a result of this contract shall be recycled in permitted recycling facilities located in the United States of America. 11 Battery manufacturer facilities must meet or exceed all applicable EPA standards. 12 The battery recycling facilities used to meet the contract requirements must meet or exceed all applicable EPA standards.
