Specifications include, but are not limited to: • All tops shall be removed to a minimum of six inches into the vertical walls of the existing inlet in preparation for the placement of the new top. • Existing lids will be allowed to be re-used on the new tops. • If an existing lid is damaged during the inlet top removal, it shall be replaced at the contractor’s sole expense. • Contractor will be responsible for proper backfill and compaction requirements of all excavations using suitable backfill material. • Items considered subsidiary to the items on the bid form will include all required reinforcing steel, all concrete saw cutting, membrane curing for all placed concrete, saw joint cutting of pavement, joint sealing of pavement, trucking costs to haul off any and all removed spoils, trucking costs for delivery of any needed materials, any forms needed for concrete replacement, and any sprinkler and/or irrigation repairs/parts that are needed due to construction activities. • All listed inlets are located on residential streets and will require that the residents be notified of upcoming work in order to relocate parked cars and other items as necessary. This communication will be handled by the City’s representatives. • Contractor will be responsible for any necessary irrigation system repairs and turf replacements due to irrigation repairs. • Contractor will be responsible to ensure United States mail is not interrupted. At all times, temporary mailboxes will be used, if necessary, to ensure the delivery the of US mail. • No inlet with a removed top shall be left uncovered and unsecured during overnight or non-working hours. • All concrete pours shall be scheduled with the City’s representative in order to allow them to be present during the concrete replacement.
