Specifications include, but are not limited to: The awarded Supplier is expected to fulfill the following requirements: 1. Must be able to accommodate weekly deliveries to 6 schools between the hours of 8:30 and 1:30 on either Tuesday or Wednesday. 2. Must provide product information fact sheets (nutritional information as required by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) for the Fruit and/or Vegetable items provided in the weekly delivery. This may be done weekly through an email that arrives no later than the scheduled delivery. 3. It is preferred that fruit and vegetable selections include pre-sliced and portioned servings that are no less than 1oz (about 28.35 g) and no more than a 2 ounce (about 56.7 g). These should be ready-to-eat and not require any additional preparations. 4. Supplier will also provide whole fruit and vegetable options to ensure that there is a variety of products available to schools and students. 5. It is preferred that there is an online order site with a review and approval feature for the Child Nutrition Director and Executive Secretary of the Office of Child Nutrition. 6. The supplier must have refrigerated transportation services that abide by all food safety precautions to ensure the safety and quality of the product. 7. Vendors must submit an itemized proposal that includes single portion prices, whole fruit, and bulk vegetable prices for the assortment of fruits and vegetables listed. The vendor may also include other options that are not listed. Fruits and vegetables to be included in the proposal are apple slices, apples, apricots, Asian pears, kiwi, bananas, blackberries, blood oranges, blueberries, Bosc pears, Brocco flower bites, Broccoli cups, celery sticks, cherries, crimson gold apples, pink apples, donut peach, dragon fruit, Edamame, Fall Glo tangerines, Gala Apples, Gold Nugget tangerines , Granny Smith apples, Granny Smith Apple slices, grapes, grape tomatoes, Halos clementines, Honey Crisp apples, Honey Crisp apples slices, Honeydew, Honeydew bites, Jumbo Seedless black grape, strawberries, Kumquats, Mango slices/bites, mini carrots, mini carrots 2 ounce (about 56.7 g) bags, cucumbers, mini sweet peppers, papaya cups, nectarines, peaches, persimmons, pineapple cups, Red plums, Starfruit, sugar plums, sugar snap peas, grapples, yellow tear drop tomatoes, watermelon, oranges (all varieties), orange slice bags, cantaloupe, corn on the cob and any other Fruit or Vegetable that is tasty, nutritious and beneficial to a child. Note** Affordable, prepacked FFV are encouraged and appreciated as are FFV that are affordable, new, and interesting to a child.
