Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Mow each awarded block to its entirety unless extenuating circumstances arise or as directed otherwise by the Project Supervisor. • Mow, grind, or hand cut all brush and tree stems as close to ground level as possible. The Project Manager shall have final determination if the mowing was completed to the lowest level possible. • Mowing may occur at the snow level when snow depths are between 4 to 10 inches, although all stumps with a basal diameter of 3-8 inches must be ground to within 4 inches of ground level. • All trees too large to mow/grind must be hand felled as close to the ground as possible. In no case shall the hand cutting height be more than 10 inches above ground level. • Stumps in recent cut areas may be left unmowed. • Any trees to be left standing will be flagged (oaks, fruit shrub clumps, deer stands, etc.). • If brush does not cut off cleanly, or if rutting or uprooting of trees or sod occurs, halt operation and contact the Project Supervisor. • Mow block boundaries and access routes will be identified on detailed site maps and loaded onto the contractors GPS unit. Mow blocks and access routes will be clearly marked with flagging where not clearly identified by natural features.
