Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Remove all existing shutters from building 2. Scrape all loose and flaking paint from repairable shutters(front) and sand to bare wood 3. Prepare wooden shutters (front) for painting. Apply primer and 2 finish coats of Sherwin Williams (or approved equal) gloss white paint (specific shade of white paint code TBD) to all shutters with a brush and roller. 4. Caulk between moldings 5. Copper flashing cap to be formed and placed on top of any and all wood shutters. 6. Reinstall all shutters. Include new decorative metal hardware similar to the original design- or- include repainted and repaired original hardware per hardware condition. 7. Fabricate and paint(spray acceptable) composite shutters before installation on building remainder 8. Install composite shutters 9. Regarding metal hinges: shutters are not intended to close. As such, use of hinges on shutters that do not face Main Street is optional (e.g., rabbiting not necessary, seats not relevant, etc.) and shutters may be affixed to the building as needed. Submit proposed hardware for review and approval. 10. Contractor is responsible for discarding and hauling away all project refuse with grounds to be in same condition as they were prior to the commencement of the project. 11. Damages for noncompliance or nonperformance costs may be specified by the Town. 12. Contractor shall specify and use safety measures to notify public of works zone as the building will be actively in use during the project.
