Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project will overbuild existing underground plant from existing QLIFE facilities located at 3591 Klindt Dr. in The Dalles, OR. to the intersection of Columbia RD and Crates Way with a new 288 count cable for the purpose of residential and small business telecommunication services. Additionally, at specifically identified locations along this route this new cable will be spliced and extended to property buildings. At these property buildings the fiber will be terminated within termination points as described in detail in the construction drawings. Additionally, a new fiber distribution hub will be developed near 3591 Klindt Dr. and all newly placed termination points at/on buildings will be spliced in a home run configuration back to this fiber distribution hub. There will be no live splicing into QLIFE's existing backbone/feeders for this project, however new cables will be placed (with matching slk) to existing QLIFE splice cases. AT NO TIME SHALL CONTRACTOR OPEN ANY EXISTING QLIFE SPLICE CASES DURING THIS PROJECT. ALL SPLICING WILL TAKE PLACE ONLY ON NEWLY PLACED FIBER. The underground work to be performed as part of this scope of work may consist of machine trenching; directional boring; HDPE, PVC and steel conduit installation; inner-duct and cable pulling; and vault installations to accommodate cable placement. Aerial installations may include make-ready work, tree trimming, attachment hardware installation, placement of guys and anchors, strand placement, installation of splice cases, fiber storage loops and aerial fiber installation. Fiber optic cable splicing may include splicing, terminating and testing, including on-reel testing. All work will be performed according to standard telecommunications installation practices as well as the cable manufacturer’s installation specifications. The contractor shall adhere to all governing agency specifications, codes, and regulations.
