Specifications include, but are not limited to: The initial move to offsite storage and internal collection move will take place sometime from February 2024 to April 2024 timeframe, according to a schedule agreed upon by the University, the Library, and the successful Vendor. Upon completion of the remodel (anticipating from December 2025 to March 2026) the moving of offsite collections back into the facility, as well as optional internal moving of onsite collections, will take place according to a schedule agreed upon by the University, the Library, and the successful Vendor and will be coordinated with any remaining activities of the general contractor, inspectors, or other trades. • The primary work involves moving a collection of 9,305 linear feet of periodicals currently housed in compact shelving on the lower level, microforms of 846 square feet housed on the lower level, 10,421 linear feet of government documents on the second floor, and 380 square feet of maps on the second floor. • Collections will be placed in the following locations in the renovated Library: o Periodicals – compact shelving, lower level o Microforms – microform cases, lower level o Government documents – compact shelving, lower level o Maps – map cases, lower level • Internal collection move, to take place after aforementioned collections have moved offsite, includes relocation of general collection materials spanning 12,528 linear feet from the Library second floor to compact shelving on the lower level. o Provide an option to move materials post-renovation from their temporary onsite location on the lower level to their new, permanent homes on the main and second levels. • Collection sizes have been measured by Library staff. Vendor should include final cost as specified on Cost Proposal.
