Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. The two ponds are approximately 1 ½ acres each. b. The job is estimated to be approximately 78,000 square feet for each 1 ½ acre pond. This estimate is given for job sizing purposes only. c. Bidders shall be responsible for determining actual measurements and job requirements. d. TWRA will prepare the ponds for pond liner installation by cleaning the pond bottom of any substrate on the present liners if needed. Materials and Installation: a. The contractor shall furnish written certification from the liner manufacturer that the contractor or installer is licensed and or trained by the liner manufacturer to install their product. b. The contractor shall furnish and install a 45-mil thick, scrim-reinforced polypropylene liner. The geomembrane shall be manufactured by the calendaring process, consisting of first-quality ingredients, suitably compounded, of which polypropylene is the principal resin. The finished compound shall be uniform in color, thickness, size, and surface texture with maximum UV protection. Installation shall be in all respects performed according to manufacturer specifications. The color of the liner shall be black. c. The contractor shall install liner material to the upper pond water intake structure and around the pond’s kettle structure. d. The contractor shall provide and install a 2-inch wide by ¼-inch-thick stainless steel batten bar with 3/8-inch anchor bolts and other materials associated to achieve a water-tight seal. e. The contractor shall be responsible for excavating of anchor trench, liner placement, and covering of the anchor trench. f. The contractor shall install single-wide factory panels or 40-50-foot-wide panels are acceptable. A final smaller width panel may be needed and is acceptable to complete the total pond coverage and save on material costs. g. The contractor shall install a new liner over the old liner presently in the pond. h. The Contractor shall not be responsible for installing liner vents.
