Specifications include, but are not limited to: REC ROOM BUILDING AND SHELTERS 1-5 ROOFS A. Remove existing shingles, felt and deteriorated roof decking. B. Replace deteriorated roof decking as needed with like material as existing and attach with decking screws or nails depending on decking material. C. Install ice shield around perimeter of roof, all valleys, hips, plumbing vents, and roof ridge on each side. D. Install synthetic felt on entire roof area. E. Install 40-year warranty, 29-gauge, 5-rib roofing panels. Color-Brown. Install screws in the flat part of metal unless cleared for rib installation by Facilities Surveyor. Screws must be installed with a minimum of 4-inches from bottom edge and 2-foot on center. No metal shall be cut with a saw - electric or hand snips only. F. Contractor shall cut out all roof ridges for ventilation. Ventilation openings shall be cut 1-1/2 inches from roof peak on each side. G. New roofing metal shall extend all the way up to ridge ventilation cut out and hangover at the bottom 1-1/2 inches. H. Install all new roofing boots for metal roofs on plumbing vents and any exhaust vents where applicable. I. Install large ridge cap (18 – 20 inches wide) on ridges and hips. J. Install vented foam closer on ridge caps.
