Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tempe Union High School District seeks a learning management system (LMS) to support its instructional mission for blended and online learning. The LMS must be comprehensive, reliable, flexible, and secure. The system must integrate with our Student Information System (SIS) and with a variety of other online tools which are outlined in this RFP. The current LMS is Schoology by PowerSchool. The current SIS is Synergy by EduPoint, however, this program is also out for bid at this time. Tempe Union employs approximately 700 teachers, 50 administrators, and 350 support personnel to serve approximately 13,500 9th-12th grade students in parts of Tempe, Phoenix, and Chandler, Arizona. Purpose The basic purpose of the Learning Management System is to allow the District to: a. Deliver learning resources and teacher-created content electronically to students using blended learning and online learning models in a mobile-friendly environment. b. Foster independence and self-motivated learning in the safety of a secure digital space. c. Promote collaboration and communication inside and outside of the classroom. d. Enhance the learning experience by engaging students and giving them voice in the learning process. e. Provide a flexible environment that allows learners to work without the constraints of classroom schedules or limited class time. f. Foster parent communication and engagement in student learning. g. Register students automatically into online courses that match their coursework in our SIS. h. Provide an accessible digital learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners.
