Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Meetings and Coordination The Consultant should anticipate meetings with County, local officials, and project stakeholders for presentation of project materials and approvals. . B) Field Survey and Topographic Mapping Provide a topographic survey at a scale not to exceed 1”=50’. Survey limits shall extend a minimum of 50 feet beyond the perimeter of the required rehabilitated area. A boundary survey for the project is not required. Horizontal and vertical datum to be an assumed system with a benchmark properly identified within the project limits and tied to physical features. Mapping must adequately depict existing surface features, drainage facilities, underground utility services and existing surface treatments. Contours should be established at two feet contour intervals for design purposes with spot grades at highpoints, low points and breaks in grade. Only trees with 6” calipers or greater must be mapped. C) Drainage Design Perform an in depth study for existing conditions. Provide solutions to any existing drainage problems, if any, design a proposed drainage system based upon a 25-year frequency level. New drainage systems should connect to existing systems where feasible. Storm water management design must be performed to satisfy the requirements of the local Soil Conservation District. D) Permits Prepare all maps, computations, presentations and pertinent data required for applications as required by the following permits including but not limited to the following: 1. New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Energy (If required). 2. Hudson - Essex - Passaic Soil Conservation District. 3. Building permits if required. E) Preliminary Engineering Prior to the advancement of final engineering documents and upon completion of the appropriate data collection process, the Consultant shall provide a preliminary engineering cost estimate of the project to be presented to the County and project stakeholders for final approval. The Consultant shall provide at least two (4’ X 3’) different renderings with two colored copies for each rendering and 8.5” X 11” colored handouts. The Consultant shall also prepare for two oral presentations to the Essex County Executive.
