Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City provides for risk management and insurance services to City departmentsthrough the Risk Management Fund, an internal service fund. Administratively, Risk Management is a division of the Department of Finance and Administrative Services. Risk Management currently has a staff of thirty-eight headed by a Risk Manager. The Risk Finance Section is responsible for financial and accounting control, as well as coordinating the insurance needs of the City. This section also manages the risk management information system. There are two Claims Administration units, one for Workers' Compensation claims and one for all other claims. Other units in Risk Management are City Safety Services, Employee Health and Wellness, Substance Abuse Management and the Employee Assistance Program. The City is represented in litigation by both the City Legal Department and outside counsel.
