Specifications include, but are not limited to: All tamarisk trees within the designated treatment area are to be removed; this includes all live and dead trees by pulling and piling. Trees will be pulled using thumb attachment and roots shaken to have loose dirt fill in root area to leave the area smooth to avoid large depressions. Efforts to spread and smooth the soil with the excavator attachment after tree removal should be made in all areas. Any tree or sapling that cannot be removed by the excavator should be sprayed no later than Oct 15 or must be removed by hand utilizing chainsaws or loppers. All trees removed should be placed in large piles (approx. 20ftx20ft) with minimal dirt attached to roots to facilitate burning. Herbicide Application: Qualified contractor to provide: triclopyr 3 (triclopyr 3,5,6-trichloro-2pyridinyloxyacetic acid, triethylamine salt as active ingredients @ 31.05% per gallon) and the hand/backpack spot spray application on each plant which cannot be removed using equipment. The purpose of the project is to eliminate tamarisk within the treatment polygons and minimize disturbance.
