Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Clark County Desert Conservation Program desires to contract with a qualified PROPOSER to provide desert tortoise telemetry on the Boulder City Conservation Easement (BCCE). This effort is part of a larger population augmentation study for Clark County, Nevada and will be conducted in coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). This project will provide information to assist in determining survivorship, habitat use, overall health, and movement patterns of translocated and resident desert tortoises. The study design will consist of a two-group experimental design that will compare the native population of desert tortoises to the translocated population for differences in movement and survival. This will allow COUNTY to assess objective 2.4 in the Desert Conservation Program’s Biological Goals and Objectives, which deals with maintaining a successful desert tortoise translocation plan.
