Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor is to provide “annual” testing, inspection, and sensitivity testing of the fire alarm systems and devices by providing labor and material services used for routine inspection services at all Dakota County Facilities. Inspections Shall Include: • Compliance – All services performed, including optional work, will comply with NFPA, manufacturer recommendations, and any other applicable codes and regulations. • Ventilation Interlocks – Verify fans shut down with duct detector activation. • Ventilation Controls – Verify smoke purge systems function properly. • Sprinkler Flow and Supervisory Switches – Verify proper operation. • Elevator Call – Verify elevator responds correctly to fire programming. • Test power failure trouble alarm and monitoring. • All smoke detectors should be air pressure cleaned every year, as testing is done. • Use test smoke for all smoke detector testing. Get owner approval for other testing methods. • Smoke detector sensitivity testing should be done per applicable codes and standards. • Test and report on all system devices including but not limited to; batteries, charges, power modules, expansion modules, initiating devices, indicating devices, etc. • Monitoring Equipment – test communication.
