Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, lodging/ camping arrangements, and incidentals to perform all work as set forth in these specifications. The contract is designed to meet the specific needs of the landowner, the State of Utah, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands (FFSL) and Duchesne County. The Contractor must supply: 1. An excavator with a bucked and thumb or grapples and preferably a longer arm and boom to minimize tracking. All necessary equipment for maintenance, spills & leaks, and proper personnel protective equipment (PPE). 2. 4-wheel drive vehicles and all equipment with abilities to access the project site. Only areas delineated on the Project Map will be treated. FFSL project manager will clearly identify unit boundaries for the work executed under this scope of work. The Contractor will provide service(s) using the following procedures and/or methodology: • Material must be mechanically piled to a depth of at least 15 feet and be piled to Project Manager’s satisfaction in or for complete consumption during burning. • Equipment must be able to create piles without dirt using proper tools such as grapples or thumbs that allow soil to pass through and only wood material to be incorporated in the piles. • All material should be piled away from areas of high aspen regeneration as to protect aspen regeneration from damages by equipment and construction of piles as much as possible. • Contractor can expect favorable slopes, with some areas experiencing some moderate slope. • Contractor must be licensed and insured.
