Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is the intent of the Facility to provide our inmate population with medical health care within a secure area as much as possible. If unavoidable or needed, a prisoner can be escorted to a local hospital or outpatient specialty provider in special circumstances. The Provider will ensure that all inmates receive appropriate access to high-quality, and cost-effective medical healthcare services. It is critically important that all healthcare providers work effectively together in a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of our inmate population. The Provider will need to ensure that if they are not the responsible physician/medical director, they designate another doctor, physician assistant, family nurse practitioner or other equally qualified professional. The Provider will also be responsible to ensure that all staff that will be providing medical services have the following minimum qualifications: 1. Authorized and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Utah, and all providers shall maintain an active license and certification at all times during this agreement. 2. It will be the responsibility of the Provider to obtain and maintain such licenses and certifications at the expense of the Provider. 3. It shall be the responsibility of the Provider to immediately notify the County of the expiration or termination of any licenses or certifications. 4. Be registered with active numbers in the Medicaid/Medicare database. 5. Experience in correctional healthcare or other relevant medical administration. 6. Maintain an active DEA license 7. The Provider and employees entering the facility must be able to pass a background check in order to enter the secure Facility;
