Specifications include, but are not limited to: Monthly site visits Monthly water system requirements for rural camps. These are the minimum requirements as required by the Bureau of Safe Drinking Water (BSDW). Test water softeners and check salt inventory, Check captive air tanks, Verify proper booster pumps operations, Check lag pump operation, Check chlorination system and chemical feed pump, Check chlorine residual and record, Check for proper valve positions in mechanical buildings, and Check fire pump system: Breaker position, jockey pump operation/settings and pressure readings/settings. Check captive air tanks and adjust pressure settings if necessary. Notify NDOC Chief of Plant Operations, facility staff and Camp Lieutenant of any problems in writing. Check disinfection systems and chemical dosage. Contracted vendor will be required to supply any disinfections chemicals that are needed. Test pH and chlorine residual as required and refill as necessary. Prepare log sheets as requested by NDOC, NDEP and the NDOC Chief of Plant Operations. Collect and transport all samples required by NDEP to a certified laboratory. This will be done at the contracted vendor’s expense. Prepare proper chain of custody documentation for sample tracking. The Chief of Plan Operations must be copied on all NDEP communications, lab tests and reports. Heating and cooling water (loop systems inspections will be reviewed, including expansion tanks and chemical addition. Check relief valves and makeup water use. Inspect booster station pump, and Inspect operation of water softeners. Test softened water output for proper function. Make any adjustments that are required and provide written documentation of specified items. Provide written documentation of water quality (concentrations). Quarterly site visits – These are the minimum requirements as required by the BSDW. Quarterly tank inspection both inside and outside, including visual verification of water level and written documentation, Quarterly tank vent screen inspection and written documentation, Well inspection, including piping, controls/instrumentation, and other items as required, written documentation must be provided in quarterly reports, Verify that maintenance tasks are being completed as scheduled, Check captive air tanks and adjust pressure settings if necessary. Notify Chief of Plant Operation, facility staff and Camp Lieutenant of any problems in writing, Check disinfection systems and chemical dosage.
