Specifications include, but are not limited to: ITEM-1 – WEDGE STYLE TANK KITS – SINGLE AXLE TRUCK 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – (See Pictures) A. Tanks must be made from medium density polyethylene, MDPE and have a minimum wall thickness of 3/8-inch. B. Tank dimensions must be approximately 111-inches long by 30-inches high sloped down to 24-inches in height by 24-inches wide and have a capacity of approximately 263-gallons. C. Each kit must have two (2) tanks, (1) left and (1) right, and slope to the center of the dump body when installed. Each “pair” must have an approximate total combined capacity of 526-gallons. D. Design must be heavy-duty with baffles and reinforced corners. Tank design must allow tanks to fit properly on the bottom, side and front of Department dump bodies. E. Each tank must have a total of three (3), 3-inch diameter holes, two (2) vent and one (1) outlet. Vent holes must be located on the top, one each end. Outlets must be in the rear facing end of each tank near the bottom. 2. STAINLESS STEEL MOUNTING KIT One (1) stainless steel mounting kit must be supplied with each pair of tanks. Kits must be designed to be removable and to retain and support tanks in Department dump bodies during all phases of operation. Each kit must be pre-sorted (not bulk) and contain all necessary parts and materials as listed below for installation by Department personnel. A. Full length tank supports, each kit must contain four (4) full length tank supports (two (2) per tank) that run from the bulkhead to the rear of each tank. Supports must be fabricated from 2-inch schedule 40 stainless steel pipe. B. End supports must be heavy duty, fabricated 7-gauge stainless steel channel or 2-inch schedule 40 stainless steel pipe. Any fittings required for joining the full length supports and end supports must be supplied. C. Eight (8) tube mounts, mounts must be 2-inch OD x 1/4-inch wall stainless steel tube with 5/8-inch holes for the attachment of supports. D. Two (2), 2-inch schedule 40 stainless steel pipe, center supports. Center supports will fit between tanks and attach with supplied ears and pins to help retain and prevent bowing of full length supports. E. Eight (8), center support mounting ears. Ears must be fabricated from 7- gauge stainless steel and be ready for attachment to full length supports. F. Twelve (12) 1/2-inch pins and clips for attaching supports and support center sections. G. Material supplied for tank supports (full length, center and end supports) must be of sufficient length for installation without splicing. (one (1) vendor supplied splice per kit will be acceptable) 3. TANK FITTINGS Each pair of tanks must include the following fittings (see pictures): A. Two (2), 2” schedule 40 x 4-inch long PVC pipes with 2-inch threaded couplers. B. Two (2), 2” schedule 40 x 4-inch long PVC pipes with caps. C. Two (2), M220SWFSS Banjo flanges welded to 2” ID (50MM) x 2.375 OD (60MM) stainless steel pipe 4-inchs long. D. Seven (7), Uniseal U200 pipe seals for 2” pipe. ITEM-2 – WEDGE STYLE TANK KITS – TANDEM AXLE TRUCK Same as ITEM-1 except as noted below. 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Tanks dimensions must be approximately 150-inches long by 36-inches high sloped down to 30-inches in height by 24-inches wide and have a capacity of approximately 450-gallons. Total combined capacity of left and right tanks must be approximately 900-gallons.
