Specifications include, but are not limited to: Supplier must provide the following for buoy location: A large oceanographic buoy. Buoy must have a mount manufactured to have a Nortek Signature 1000 ADCP (this is an existing item) mounted to capture water current from surface to bottom. The buoy must be able to have weather instruments mounted and fully functional. The buoy must be self-contained and be able to power the instruments with solar panel and batteries. All data will be transmitted hourly (at a minimum). Location is off the coast of Houma, Louisiana, approximately 9km offshore in 35ft of water, 100 meter from SS91 oil platform. LSU will provide the following for buoy location deployment: • Nortek signature 1000 ADCP with AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System). These instruments are configured with Souriau connectors and Nortek green extreme cable with corresponding Souriau connectors. • Wind Sensor – RM Young 91500. • Temp R/H with radiation shield, barometer, and solar radiation sensor. • Campbell Scientific data logger, iridium satellite modem, cables, omni directional antenna, GPS mounting stand. • LSU will ship all instruments to supplier for testing and integration. • After deployment, LSU will pay all monthly data charges. • Boat to deploy buoy. • Divers, if needed, to deploy buoy. • Necessary permits and permissions to install the system. Deliverables for buoy location deployment: • Supplier must transport buoy and equipment to LUMCON in Cocodrie, LA. • Supplier must deliver an integrated system for taking the data from the sensors and transmitting back to LSU. • Supplier must provide a minimum of one technician to work with LSU on deployment of buoy. Supplier must have the system operating and fully functional in water. • Supplier must provide a fully integrated system with real time data of current, wave, and weather parameters at a minimum hourly interval which is able to interface so remote access can be made to adjust sampling intervals when needed. • Supplier must supply LSU with an original editable unencrypted version of the configuration script for the data logger/modem for data communication. If any computer programming is done, the source code and user instruction must be delivered. • When buoy is deployed, supplier must ensure it is fully operational for at least three weeks after deployment. • Supplier must provide technical support via phone or email communication should an issue come up after the buoy system is deployed for 3 months after deployment.
