Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Design of coastal engineering projects, including but not limited to, beach nourishment, coastal channel maintenance, and coastal strategic planning. 2. Perform coastal modeling for beach erosion, wave hydrodynamics, shoreline change, and sediment transport, using the most advanced and diverse modeling suites available. 3. Provide permitting assistance for both State and Federal approval/authorization of coastal engineering projects. 4. Conduct and evaluate topographic and bathymetric surveying. 5. Perform geotechnical investigations, environmental analysis, and benthic surveys. 6. Perform chemical sampling and analysis. 7. Prepare construction cost estimates and assist in bidding processes, including preconstruction conferences. 8. Perform construction management activities such as field observations, project oversight, construction progress meetings, contract administration, permit compliance, and monitoring. 9. Provide public outreach assistance regarding coastal protection projects. 10. Provide emergency storm damage response. 11. Assist the County with sea level rise and coastal resilience issues. 12. Assist the County with State and Federal grant funding requests. 13. Assist the County in establishing Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU). 14. Provide expert witness testimony on coastal engineering projects. 15. Perform all other coastal engineering duties, as deemed necessary by the County.
