Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Polson HVAC Modernization A feasibility study was competed by BL Companies in March of 2023. The purpose of this study was to identify three possible project approaches design approaches, their life cycle costs, and long-term energy impact. Three system options were investigated and presented to the Town for consideration. It was determined that the most feasible design approach was Option 1: VRF and DOAS. See ‘Appendix E – BL Companies Feasibility Report’. Project Goals: Provide 100% air conditioning and heating to the school; improve and control indoor air quality per current ASHRAE/ state/ federal guidance; provide new building management system for all HVAC system, safeties, and energy management requirements; upgrade or replace electrical distribution panels through out the building; obtain maximum utility incentives, federal incentives/grants, state incentives/ grants, and rebates. 2. Polson Electrical Power and Distribution Upgrades – In support of the HVAC modernization scope electrical service upgrades will be required. The BL Companies feasibility study included schematic narrative design for a new electrical service entrance, primary switchgear, ATS, and full building standby generator. This electrical scope shall coordinate with the requirements of the HVAC modernization scope. See ‘Appendix E – BL Companies Feasibility Report’. Project Goals: Provide new utility service to accommodate new emergency generator and HVAC improvements; replace and upgrade existing primary switchgear; provide accommodations in switchgear for maximum solar pv potential (for future use); provide new diesel emergency generator and fuel storage (72-96 hour); provide utility coordination and successful interconnection; obtain state/ federal grants/ incentives. 3. Polson Auditorium Upgrades – The Town of Madison has a thriving theatrical program throughout the district. The Polson Middle School Auditorium is used by the Town regularly and is in need of updates and modernization. This includes new stage lighting, house lighting, sound system, auditorium seating, and related updates. Additionally, this work shall be coordinated with the HVAC modernization scope as it relates to the auditorium HVAC, lighting, and sound system coordination. Project Goals: Replace stage lighting with energy efficient theatrical lighting and modern theatrical lighting control system; replace existing sound system with modern digital computer controlled theatrical sound system; replace auditorium seating to meet the Towns needs (ADA, total seating capacity, egress lighting, etc…); replace house lighting with energy efficient dimmable lighting capable of integration with the theatrical control system and existing lighting control systems. 4. Daniel Hand High School RTU Replacement – The existing rooftop units at DHHS have exceeded their expected useful life and are in need of replacement. This planned replacement should incorporate high efficiency equipment, utility rebates and incentives, required control modifications and upgrades, and any related modifications required for the RTU replacement. See ‘Appendix F – BL Companies Feasibility Report’. Project Goals: Replace existing RTUs with modern energy efficient equivalent; Verify capacities, ventilation rates, current code requirements, etc…; Comply with ASHRAE/ State/ Federal guidance for IAQ in K-12 public schools; Replace existing roof curbs (no adapter curbs) to keep the same equipment height; obtain maximum utility incentives, federal incentives/grants, state incentives/ grants, and rebates.
