Specifications include, but are not limited to: Scope of Services Requested 3.1 In cooperation with the Board, develop a candidate profile and criteria for evaluation/selection of the successful candidate for the Superintendent. 3.2 Recommend a selection and search process that best meets the needs of TUHSD and develop a timeline for the agreed-upon search process that includes key milestones. 3.3 At the direction of the Board, develop and implement a plan to provide and facilitate community input and engagement. All media releases, public announcements, and public disclosures by either party, including promotional or marketing material, shall be coordinated with and approved by the other party prior to release (which party may withhold consent in its sole discretion), and each party shall provide its reasonable consent to the use of their respective marks/logos on the approved promotional and marketing materials. In addition to the foregoing, the Board will provide a facilitator/project manager to coordinate the activities among the Board, the Proposer (recruiting vendor), and any third parties. 3.4 Assist in creating the candidate profile and qualifications, the development of which will include input from staff, students, and community members. 3.5 In cooperation with the Board, develop and implement a candidate marketing and recruitment plan (which includes the distribution of relevant materials), advertising of the position, and conducting a national search which includes advice to the Board on an appropriate compensation package for a new superintendent. 3.6 In cooperation with the Board, establish a process by which unsolicited applicants may apply for consideration. 3.7 Actively recruit qualified candidates who may be interested in cultivating world-class thinkers and continue our journey of excellence and equity via recruitment strategies approved by the Board. The consultant shall accept candidates’ submittals and shall communicate with applicants regarding their status (successful and unsuccessful) throughout the process. 3.8 Verify the qualifications, experience, and eligibility of certification of final candidates by various means including checking references and conducting professional/personal background interviews. 3.9 Assist the Governing Board in developing the interview process and questions; the process will include involvement by staff, students, and community members to provide constructive input and may expand to public information and participation forums. 3.10 In cooperation with the Board, develop and implement a public information and participation program to ensure access by interested citizens, and District employees in providing constructive input to the Board in defining criteria and qualifications, skills and competencies to be sought by the Board, and providing the constructive input during the interview and final selection phases.
