Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Replacement area is approximately 6940 SF. Replacing the lower roof sections only. b. Contractor to confirm system meets all local building code requirements c. Roof construction shall be rated for a Severe Hail level of resistance d. The roof covering shall be designed for a Wind Speed rating of 90mph in accordance with the International Building Code e. The completed roof installation is to have a Class A fire classification meeting ASTM E108 f. This project will be a complete tear off and re-roof. g. Dispose of removed roofing materials appropriately. h. Remove any roof penetrations no longer in use and repair structural deck void accordingly. i. Remove existing 45mil EPDM down to concrete roof deck. Sweep deck clean and prepare roof deck in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations j. Provide roof insulation system with an R-value 30 or higher in accordance with the Nebraska Energy Code. Attach to deck according to the requirements of roof system manufacturer. k. Install one layer of 60mil black EPDM membrane or equivalent, mechanically attached or adhered as recommended by Contractor and manufacturer. The EPDM roof membrane shall comply for use in a roof assembly investigated and tested to meet U.L. 580 and U.L. 1256. The sheet membrane shall meet ASTM D 4637 for Type I. l. Reflash all vents, stacks, drains, roof curbs, perimeter parapet walls, etc. m. Fabricate and install new 24-gauge perimeter sheet metal gravel stop/cap flashing. n. Upon completion of the installation, an inspection shall be conducted by a technical representative. o. The EPDM roofing system shall have a labor and material warranty period of 15 years from the date of completion. The warranty shall be without monetary limitation in which the manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of the membrane roofing system that fail in material or workmanship within the specified period, failure includes roof leaks. The condition of failure shall be based upon industry standards that would normally be deemed as failure.
