Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Moving Contractor(s) shall primarily work with the Wichita Housing Authority (WHA), Public Housing residents and the Relocation Consultant for the RAD project as well as the disposition of its single-family properties currently within the Public Housing portfolio. The Relocation Consultant and/or WHA will be in contact with the Moving Company in order to schedule a move (or multiple moves) 30 days in advance. Generally, the Moving Contractor(s) will be required to pack each household, relocate belongings to the new permanent residence and assist with unpacking. Some tenants may choose to pack and unpack themselves, some may choose “self-move” to which the Moving Contractor(s) shall provide packing material (boxes, tape, etc) only. Awarded contractor(s) will be given opportunity to view individual units prior to move date in order to provide the WHA the number of hours and materials needed to complete each move. Note that awarded contractor(s) will have opportunity to view the units within 30 days of move so they can provide an estimate of number of hours and materials and anything in addition beyond the scope of the contract in order to complete individual moves. If there are multiple contractors awarded, individual jobs will be assigned to the contractor whose quote best meets the needs of the project. WHA reserves the right to make multiple awards based upon its needs and priorities. Moving Contractor Responsibilities: • All moves must be started and completed during the same working day • Practice acceptable safety precautions so as not to cause harm to any persons or property while performing services under this solicitation and any resulting contract • Follow industry safety standards, and use only industry approved safety equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification in the performance of all duties
