Specifications include, but are not limited to: UDOT performs regular work near Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) rail lines. This work includes maintenance activities, structural inspections, and all other road work activities performed by the department within 50’ of UPRR right of way.; Anytime UDOT works within 50’ of UPRR ROW or above the rail, a railroad flagger must be present to be in communication with the trains and alert UDOT inspection crews to clear the area of operations when a train is nearing the inspection area.; UPRR will not allow anyone outside their designated 3rd party to provide a flagger for their trains.; Typical charges include a daily rate of an 8-hour on-site work day, mobilization, and Per Diem costs. Services are billed for the Flagger in Charge’s (FIC’s) time on site, to include any time setting up and taking down track protection, if applicable. Any time beyond the FIC’s 8 hours will be charged at an hourly overtime rate.; In the event of cancellation is given less than twenty-four hours’ notice it is considered a billable day. Cancellations must be made in writing.; Invoices are submitted upon completion of the job or at month’s end. Discuss with UDOT representative for the exact billing information.
