Specifications include, but are not limited to: The NMDOT requires that the following roadside safety hardware installed on the National Highway System (NHS) routes adhere to the AASHTO Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH): 1. W-beam barriers; 2. Cast-in-place concrete barriers; 3. W-beam terminals; 4. Cable barriers; 5. Cable terminals; and 6. Crash cushions. For new permanent installations and full replacements, the safety hardware shall meet the criteria established in the 2016 Edition of MASH. Only products designated as meeting MASH requirements listed on the Approved Products List (APL) shall be used. The Contractor shall pave all milled areas back to the profile grade before opening to traffic (completely paved with temporary striping) within 48 hours of milling. If the Contractor does not meet the 48 hours requirements, the Contractor shall not resume additional milling operations Failure by the Contractor to comply with this Notice to Contractors shall result in a $2,000.00 per Day penalty for each occurrence where all lanes are not fully paved, striped and open to the traveling public within 48 hours after milling.
