Specifications include, but are not limited to: •Provide professional, therapeutic, and supportive mental and behavioral health services to LMPD Sworn members and their Immediate Family members and to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Professional Staff. •Provide information, support, intervention, and assistance to LMPD members involved in various critical and/or traumatic incidents. •Act as the Mental Health Professional to the Peer Support Team and make all callouts as required. •Provide professional follow-up to affected Officers involved in Critical Incidents. •Act as the Mental Health Professional to the Hostage Negotiations Team and make all callouts as required. •Assist in the selection, training, retention and mentoring of members of both the Peer Support and Hostage Negotiations Teams. •Provide mental health support for all personnel by attending funeral services as required. •Teach and make presentations to Sworn personnel as required at the Academy and Firearms Training Center. •Act as a referral agent to outside mental health facilities for Sworn officers and their Family Members as required. •Maintain professional relationships with outside mental health treatment facilities. •Participate in the Critical Incident Training (CIT) training of personnel. •Publish on a regular basis pertinent mental health tips and suggestions to both Sworn and Civilian personnel through email. •Receive and act on appropriate taskings from the Chief and Command Staff on matters of mental health. •Upon request, provide mental health support to officers involved in critical/traumatic incidents from outside law enforcement agencies
