Specifications include, but are not limited to: HEIGHT, LENGTH AND WHEELBASE 27. Maximum Length approximately 388.00” 28. Maximum Height approximately 121.00” 29. Wheelbase approximately205.50” CARRYING CAPACITY 30. It is the intention of these specifications to set forth the minimum requirements for the construction of a complete TRIPLE COMBINATION PUMPER equipment with a 2000 G.P.M class (A) Pump. It is estimated that the complete Pumper will have a gross vehicle weight of approximately 44.000 pounds including all equipment and a crew of five (5). 31. The entire apparatus shall be of the latest, most modern and approved design, constructed with due consideration to symmetrical proportions, distributions and nature of the load to be sustained and the general character of the service to which the apparatus will be subjected when placed in service. 32. Apparatus shall be designed with due consideration of load between front and rear axle. Weight balance and distribution shall be in accordance with all Federal laws, recommendations of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the requirements as set forth in NFPA 1901 and 1911 current edition. Successful bidder shall furnish the Louisville Fire and Rescue, a certificate of weight showing actual weight on the front axle, the rear axle and the total weight of completed apparatus at time of delivery. This weight shall be the dry weight of completed apparatus excluding personnel, equipment and hose. PUMP SYSTEM TEST 33. The pump system shall be tested at the apparatus manufacturer’s facility and shall conform to NFPA requirements and standards. FAILURE TO MEET TEST REQUIREMENTS 34. In the event the apparatus fails to meet the test requirements on the first trials, second trials may be made at the option of the contractor within thirty (30) days of the date of the first trials. Such trials shall be final and conclusive and failure to comply with these requirements shall be sufficient cause for rejection. Failure to make such changes as the Chief of the Fire Department and/or the purchaser may consider necessary to conform to any clause of the specifications, within thirty (30) days after notice is given to the contractor to make such changes shall also be cause for rejection of the apparatus. Permission to keep or store the apparatus in any building owned or occupied by the purchaser or its use by the Fire Department, during the above specified period with the permission of the contractor, shall not constitute acceptance of the same.
