Specifications include, but are not limited to: The MDPS is seeking to establish a contract for in house DNA testing of Forensic evidence to build a Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) profile with more than 100,000 markers on behalf of the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory (MSFL). • The vendor laboratory responding to this bid solicitation must be a forensic testing laboratory. • The vendor laboratory must be an accredited laboratory against testing standards ISO 17025. • The vendor shall meet the following technical specifications and operational impact: DNA Extraction from Skeletal Remains • DNA extraction pulverized bone sample skeletal remains using QIAGEN EZ1/2 DNA Investigator chemistry. • Bones shall be cleaned prior to extraction to minimize contamination. • Two samples of bone material (~200 mg each) shall be collected. • The second pulverized bone sample shall be returned to the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory (MSFL) for storage; the weight of the sample returned shall be documented and provided to the laboratory upon completion • Reagent blanks must be processed with the samples during DNA extraction
