Aerial Testing must follow specifications in NFPA 1911 (Standard for Inspecting, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Emergency Vehicles) Chapter 22 (Performance Testing of Aerial Devices). All test procedures shall be consistent with ASTME 1319 (Standard Terminology for Nondestructive Testing). Third party companies shall be accredited to the requirements in ISO/IEC 17020. Aerial testing must be conducted by an ASNE (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) Level II NDT (Nondestructive Technician) in the test method used, as specified in ASNT CP-189 (Standard for Qualification and Certification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel). Upon completion of Aerial Testing, all results shall be submitted to the Hot Springs Fire Department in paper and electronic format. Ground Ladder Testing must follow specifications in NFPA 1932 (Standard on Use, Maintenance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders) Chapter 7 (Service Testing of Ground Ladders). DO NOT USE Ground Ladder Testing following specification in NFPA 1931 (Standard for Manufacturers Design of Fire Department Ground Ladders) as they will damage the ladder. All inspections outlined in NFPA 1932 Chapter 6 must be performed prior to the performance of any testing to minimize the possibility of sudden ladder failure due to visual defects or unacceptable conditions. Upon completion of Ground Ladder Testing, all results will be submitted to the Hot Springs Fire Department in paper and electronic format.
