Specifications include, but are not limited to: • The Vendor shall remove or black out the existing white ADA parking space lines and apply paint on the parking lot pavement surfaces to create 12 accessible parking spaces as detailed herein and shown on Appendix -1. • The Vendor shall remove and cover over the existing ADA symbols and apply ADA symbols in all handicapped spaces as shown on Appendix-1. • The Vendor shall apply paint on the parking lot pavement to create a path of travel as shown on Appendix-1. • Paint for marking the pavement in the parking lot shall conform to MPI No. 97, colors as shown. • The Vendor shall apply all markings with approved equipment. • The Vendor shall provide pneumatic spray guns for hand application of paint in areas where a mobile paint applicator cannot be used. • The Vendor shall be an experienced technician that is thoroughly familiar with the equipment, materials and marking layout and shall control all painting equipment. • The Vendor shall be responsible for coordinating the application of the paint, with the age of the asphalt, along with the thickness of the paint application to prevent curling or any other adverse conditions from occurring. • The Vendor shall thoroughly clean all surfaces to be marked before application of paint. The Vendor shall remove all dust, dirt, and other granular surface deposits by sweeping, blowing with compressed air, rinsing with water, or a combination of these methods. The Vendor shall completely remove any rubber deposits, existing paint markings, and other coatings adhering to the pavement with scrapers, wire brushes, sand blasting, mechanical abrasion, or approved chemicals. • The application of paint conforming to Fed. Spec. TT-P-1952 is an option for removal of exiting paint markings on asphalt pavement. Apply the black paint in as many coats as necessary to completely obliterate the exiting markings. Where oil or grease are present on old pavement to be marked, scrub affected areas with several applications of trisodium phosphate solution or other approved detergent or degreaser, and rinse thoroughly after each application. After cleaning, seal oil-soaked areas with cut shellac to prevent bleeding through the new paint. • Pavement marking shall follow as closely as practicable after the surface has been cleaned and dried. • The temperature of the surface to be painted and the atmosphere shall be above 50 degrees Fahrenheit and less than 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
