Specifications include, but are not limited to: Anchorage Parks and Recreation (APR) needs a high roof AWD cargo van to support our growing set of 22 special events per year and to deliver recreation opportunities to the Anchorage Bowl. A combination of growth in the complexity of our events and challenges with staffing has created a need to carry more equipment with less staff, necessitating a cargo van. APR is expanding opportunities to reach underserved neighborhoods in the Anchorage Bowl, where families lack the resources to come to parks across town for recreation, by transporting recreation resources to the neighborhoods they live in. This vehicle needs to have the capability of driving onto and off of Cheney Lake and Westchester Lagoon in winter for events. The van should have the equivalent capabilities of a 2023 Mercedes Sprint Van, including a minimum of the same ground clearance.
