Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Maine is seeking proposals for the repower and refit of the Patrol Vessel Maine. The Department maintains a fleet of large (35’-46’) fiberglass lobster boat-style patrol vessels used for marine fisheries and boating safety enforcement, as well as search and rescue. The Maine lobster boat design provides an effective and safe platform for officers to conduct patrol work, including hauling and inspecting lobster fishing gear, along Maine’s coastline. As the Department’s operational needs move offshore to support the study of impacts of Offshore Wind Development it becomes necessary for the Department to increase the capabilities of its vessels to remain effective and keep its staff safe.
