Specifications include, but are not limited to: W1. Well Drilling a. CONTRACTOR is to drill and develop arctic residential water wells. Approximate well depths are given in the schedule of values. Should well drilling need to exceed these depths, the CONTRACTOR must contact the Project Manager to obtain approval, prior to any additional drilling. b. Compensation may include payment for labor, drilling, steel casing, PVC liners, well logging, alignment test, drive shoes, sanitary well cap and marking, well development (items not included under test pumping) and other necessary items required for well drilling. No additional payment will be made for perforated casing. Payment for well drilling as specified shall be made at the unit price bid based on the number of linear feet drilled and casing installed. No payment shall be made for well drilling which has not been pre-authorized by the Project Manager. W2. Well Screen a. CONTRACTOR is to provide well screen sizing, sizing methodology and install well screen on developed well. 1. The size of the slot shall be based on the sieve analysis of the water bearing formation. 2. Well screens shall not be installed without proper sizing. 3. Sized to yield suspended solids concentrations less than 5ppm after development. 4. Minimum specified screen length is 5 feet. The length of the screen shall be dependent upon the length and type of aquifer encountered and minimum specified production rate. b. Compensation may include payment for labor, packers, seals, couplings, blank risers as bottom and top sections, fittings, and all other necessary items require for a complete and operational installation.
