Duopa is a medication that is delivered to him in the form of a liquid which is contained in a cartridge that is then inserted into a device called a Duopa Pump. A tube that has been surgically inserted into the Resident's small intestine or stomach is connected to the pump thereby providing the medication in a more consistence manner and provides improvement of the Resident's symptoms throughout each day. The Resident is unable to take the tablet form of this medication offered by McKesson because of the severity of his Parkinson's disease and the need for around the clock medication, which has been prescribed by a neurologist. Research conducted by the Pharmacist in Pocatello has found that only 3 vendors (Pharmacy Solutions, CVS, and Accredo) provide this medication, in a liquid state
